Caught in another heavy shower while lunching (they seem to always come around that time now, and lunch often gets extended).
Our beloved “Ao Nang Boat Noodle” seems to have closed down on a vacation or something, and Gaute and me are left to explore other alternatives. In this picture you have both of our two new go-to places for lunch, namely “Smiling Dog Café – Sweet and Savory Crepes”, which I am sitting in while taking this photo, and the street food stall that I am taking my photo of.
Both are conveniently close to the local emergency clinic (seen behind the food stall), a place that became necessary to visit every day for bandage changes and shots after Gaute managed to get bitten by a dog while jogging 0_0
It happened Saturday morning, the day after this picture was taken, and he is fine so no need to worry. The rabies vaccine is proven to be 100% effective, which is good since rabies itself is proven to be 100% lethal… A bandage photo of Gaute is coming later.
When we don’t eat Thai we eat delicious Indian ♥
or Mexican or Italian… Eating out every day still feels strange, but I think I could get used to it :P
Riding together two or more on one motorcycle is pretty common down here. Motorcycle taxies are also pretty common, and Gaute and me often get questions or honks, indicating that they are wondering if we want a ride.
A few times a week I even see whole families, with two parents and two or three kids riding together on one bike! I haven’t managed to take a picture of that yet but I will make sure to blog it if I do.
It’s May 17, hipp hipp hurra! And since we are fare from Norway, embassies, and other Norwegians we have be creative and make do with what we have, namely lots of ice cream, and a few more or less memorised May 17 songs lurking around.
This is Swensen’s mango ice cream, the best ice cream in all of Ao Nang. Sadly white objects on white tabletops in bad lighting conditions makes for bad and difficult to edit pictures :/
