Here is a slightly blurry picture from something called Drekkedagsnatta, or Drinking Day’s Night in English. It’s something between a local festival and a large drinking party here in Kongsberg. We dress warm, head out for the hills near our ski resort, light lots of large fires and drink all night. This we do in the celebration of the silver miners of old times, and the fact that they got their Christmas vacation on this day. When it is the darkest day of the year, you hardly need a better excuse than that. Here is a slightly blurry picture from something called Drekkedagsnatta, or Drinking Day’s Night in English.
